Legal Aid Committee of Dr.Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University,Lucknow,formed under the directives of National Legal Service Authority and in the spirit of Article 39(a) of constitution of India.This is first of its kind in the state of Uttar Pradesh.The committee was inaugurated by honorable justice Dr. Arijit Pasayat, judge Supreme Court of India and chairman of the SCLSC on 21st Feb, 09.The aims and objectives are mentioned in the preamble of constitution of our committee.

Registrations for the National Mediation Competition
Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University was established by an Act of Govt. Of Uttar Pradesh in 2005, U.P. Act No.28 of 2005 and came into being on 4th of January 2006 to meet up the new challenges in legal field and to strengthen the vision that was given by the establishment of first National Law University of the country.
Qualified as the only Competition of this nature in South Asia, it would be highly grateful if law colleges and National Law Universities send a team to participate in the competition.
The College registrations are open till 15th December, 2011 and the team registrations are open till 20th December, 2011. A total of 24 teams shall be selected for the competition on the first come first serve basis. The rules of the event shall be posted very soon. A team shall comprise of two members who will act as mediators in the competition.
The registrations can be mailed to lac.rmlnlu@gmail.com. We kindly request that the participation of the institution be confirmed first and at the earliest. Feel free to contact in case of any assistance.

5:00PM to 6:00 PM (Break) – High tea (Announcement of results)
6:00PM to 6:45PM (30 min round) – Quarter finals (8 courtrooms) (16 clients) (16 judges)

> SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Mediation Plans to be mailed at lac.rmlnlu@gmail.com by 5:00 pm on 8th November, 2011.
5 Hard copies of the Mediation Plan to be submitted in Room # 102 by 5:00 pm on 8th November, 2011.
If any participating team has a problem with mediation story or mediation plan and needs clarification then it should be done by 14.00 hours, .8th Nov. No queries will be entertained afterwards...
> There can only be ONE best possible solution and ONE BATNA. Keep this in mind when drawing up your Mediation Plans.
>Amendment to rules (In case participants have not checked their email ids or did not submit the same)
Responsibility sharing – Explain how the individual members of the team, as per their analysis of the dispute and strategy proposed to be adopted, plan to divide the various issues and themes between them, and how they shall divide responsibility of addressing them in the course of their interaction with the litigants. Explain how and what role each individual member proposes to take up and at what stage, especially in case of unforeseen developments, revelations and impasse(description in about least 3 lines).
